Para Chloro Meta Cresol (PCMC), also known as 4-Chloro-3-methylphenol, OR Chloro cresol

White or almost white, crystalline powder or compacted crystalline masses supplied as pellets
or colourless or white crystals.

Slightly soluble in water, very soluble in ethanol
(96 per cent), freely soluble in fatty oils. It
dissolves in solutions of alkali hydroxides.

Melting Point 64 °C to 67°C

Uses
Pharmaceuticals: Preservative in injections, lotions, and creams, and as a solubilizing agent.
Disinfectants & Antiseptics: Used in general disinfectants and antiseptics.
